Your account

Delete your account

You can erase your Virtuous English Academy account yourself, right here, in about thirty seconds. There is no form to fill in, nobody to email, and no waiting period — and nothing you delete can be brought back.

What deletion removes

Everything below is deleted the moment you confirm — not queued, not soft-deleted, not archived for thirty days:

  • Your sign-in account — the email address, display name and the credential itself, whether you signed up with a password, with Google, or with Apple. The email becomes free to register again from scratch.
  • Your learning record — course progress across A1–B2, XP, badges, streak, study time and your placement level.
  • Your saved work — the vocabulary bank and flashcards, dashboard notes, drill results and every exam answer stored against your account.
  • Your certificates — any certificate you generated stops resolving at its public URL, because the record carrying your name is removed.
  • This browser's copy — the local progress cache, so the site stops recognising you here even before the next page load.

What does not vanish in the same instant

Two honest exceptions, both of which we would rather state than let you discover:

  • The public leaderboard row — for up to about 48 hours. No browser is allowed to write that collection at all; it is rebuilt by a scheduled job under a server account, which is the only reason a score there cannot be forged. That job already removes rows whose account has gone, so yours disappears on its next run.
  • Records we are required to keep — if you ever bought the certified exam, the order record and the tax data behind it stay for as long as accounting law requires. They are held by the payment provider and by us as the seller's counterparty; they are not part of your learning profile and they are not used for anything else.

Analytics data is not on either list: it carries no account identifier, so there is nothing in it to attach to you once the account is gone.

Three smaller things you might have meant

Deletion is permanent, and it is often more than someone actually wants. If one of these is the real problem, it does not cost you your progress:

  • Too many emails? Turn off the reminders in your dashboard profile. Your account stays.
  • Don't want to appear on the leaderboard? That is a preference on your profile, not a reason to leave.
  • Sharing this computer? Signing out removes your data from this browser without touching your account.

Delete permanently

Checking whether you are signed in…

Only want this browser cleaned? This removes the local progress cache and signs you out here, and touches nothing on your account.

If something goes wrong

If the deletion stops partway — a dropped connection is the usual reason — nothing is lost: your account still exists and you can simply run it again. The steps are ordered so that your sign-in is the last thing removed, precisely so a half-finished run never strands data you no longer have the right to delete.

If it will not complete after a second attempt, write to virtuousenglish@virtuousenglishacademy.com from the address on the account and we will finish it by hand. Our full data commitments are in the privacy policy.
