A missed day is forgiven
3 days in a row earn your first streak freeze, and every 7 earn one more. It covers one missed day. You can hold 2. Weekends can be rest days.

Questions learners ask
- Is it free?
- Yes. Every level and every review are free, with no account needed, and you can learn 10 new words a day. Word Trainer Plus takes that daily limit away for $1.99 a month or $14.99 a year. Sign in and you can try it 7 days free, with no card.
- Where is my progress saved?
- In this browser, after every answer. Sign in and it is also saved to your account, so it follows you to every device.
- Can I keep it on my phone's home screen?
- Yes. On Android, open the browser menu and choose "Add to Home screen". On iPhone, tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen". Sign in once on the phone and you stay signed in.
- How good are the translations?
- They are machine translations. One word can mean several things, so read the example too. You can change the language during a session: press the globe.
- When is a word "known"?
- When you have answered it right three times, on three different days. A miss starts the count again.
- Can I practise my words again?
- Yes. Press Review to practise the words you missed, or all the words you are learning. Practice does not move a review date. A word you miss comes back tomorrow.
- What is the final check?
- At the end of a session each new word comes back once more, usually as a round of matching words to their meanings. It is practice: only your first answer changes the schedule.
- Can I choose what to learn?
- Yes. Choose a level, then a topic if you want one. Words that are due for review always come first.
- What keeps a streak going?
- Five answers in a day keep it. If you miss a day and hold a streak freeze, the freeze is used and the streak stays.
- What is the weekly league?
- A board of everyone who learnt words since Monday, by points. Anyone can see it. Sign in and you are on it under your first name. You can change the name or hide yourself at any time.
