Going to is the future of the already-decided. When you say I'm going to look for a new job, the decision has been made — perhaps this morning, perhaps last year — and you are reporting it rather than making it. That is the whole difference between going to and will, and it is why going to dominates conversations about holidays, careers and weekends.

The form is be + going to + base verb, which means the auxiliary changes with the subject: I am going to, she is going to, they are going to. These sixty exercises drill that agreement, the negative and question forms, and the second use of going to that learners often miss — predictions based on evidence you can see. Look at those clouds; it's going to rain is not a guess but a reading of the sky, and English marks that difference by choosing going to rather than will.

Be going to + verb expresses plans and intentions decided before speaking.
It also predicts from present evidence you can see.
Form: am/is/are + going to + base verb; negatives and questions run through be.
With go and come, native speakers often shorten: 'We're going to the beach' rather than 'going to go'.
